Obligatory Thanksgiving Ramble

So, this post is late.  For Patreon, a week late, for my other blogs, a few hours.  I’ll start by apologizing for that.  It’s been kind of a hard couple of weeks for me for a few reasons, and my focus has been all over the place.  That said, I did want to make the obligatory Thanksgiving post.

I have a lot to be thankful for this year.  I’ve been able to spend it focused very much on my writing, and on recovering from the mental health issues that pretty much filled the latter half of 2019 and all of 2020 for me.  I’m not really in a place that can be called well, yet, but I’m a lot closer than I was a year ago.

A lot of that is due to the love and support of my family.  My Mother and my Aunt especially.  They’ve given me a place to live, for which I am incredibly thankful.  They’ve put up with the fact that I am basically non-functional a large part of the time.  Something for which I am again, incredibly thankful.

I also want to give a special thank you to the friends who have been reading my work, helping me improve it, and most importantly of all, encouraging me to keep writing.  Beck, Kelly, Isca, Grew, Jane and Nisha, I really can’t thank you guys enough.

Finally, of course, I want to say thank you to my publisher, for taking a chance on me with not one, but two books.  I can’t put into words how much it means to me to know that in just a few short months, I’m going to get to share my work with the world.

It’s been a good year for me.  Not the easiest on record, but a good year.
